Andy Murray Crashes Out of The US Open 2021

It was the first round at the US Open and we had former champion Andy Murray take on Stefanos Tsistsipas. It was a thrilling encounter and eventually, the match was won by the Greek star, 2-6 7-6(7) 3-6 6-3 6-4 in 4 hours and 35 minutes.

 

 

 

 

As the match began, Andy Murray was on the offensive and was quick to put pressure on Stefanos Tsitsipas. In the third and fifth games of the set, the Scot got the important breaks.

 

 

It took Andy 43 minutes to seal the opening set in his favor. During the set, the Greek star failed to serve up to the match, which did leave an impact.

 

 

In the following set, both players were playing brilliantly. Stefanos certainly raised his levels and was holding his service games with great effect.

 

 

Eventually, the set had to be decided in a tiebreak. During the tiebreak too, there was a close battle and at that time, it was the Greek player who managed to get the better of Murray. He won the set 7-6 (7).

As the third set began, it was Murray who broke Stefanos in his opening service game. In the end, the one break was enough for the former World No. 1 to seal the set in his favor. He won the set 6-3 in close to an hour.

The two early breaks received by Tsitsipas helped him get the edge over Murray. In 46 minutes, the Greek ace won the set 6-3. During the set, he was fully focused.

In the opening game of the final set, the player from Greece broke the former champion. Stefanos raised his levels and was looking more sharper than his opponent. In the end, he won the set 6-4.
