Brittany Matthews enjoys ‘victory Monday’ after Chiefs win fifth straight

No Monday blues here for Brittany Matthews.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, the fiancée of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes celebrated Kansas City’s AFC West win over the Denver Broncos, 22-9.

“Victory Mondays are the best Mondays,” Matthews captioned the post.

In the photos, Matthews, 26, is seen on the sidelines at Arrowhead as the Chiefs warmed up. She also appeared in photos and social media videos with Mahomes’ younger brother, Jackson.

The Chiefs kept their now five-game win streak alive on Sunday night, but Mahomes, who had a touchdown and interception, noted that the team isn’t playing at its highest level.

“Obviously we feel like we aren’t playing our best football,” Mahomes said. “We have spurts where we’re really good, then we have spurts where we aren’t scoring and we’re not finding ways to finish drives. As a competitor, you want to be better.”

The 2021 season has been something of a rollercoaster for Mahomes, who has thrown 12 interceptions. The 2017 first-round pick appeared to return to his MVP form in Week 10, when the Chiefs crushed the raiders, 41-14.

Ahead of Sunday’s game against the Broncos, the Chiefs had recharged during their bye week. Mahomes and Matthews — who welcomed daughter Sterling in February following their September 2020 engagement — enjoyed a date night, as well as an evening out at the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation

The Chiefs (8-4) will face the Raiders (6-6) on Sunday.
