“I Still Want To Go to University”: Novak Djokovic Reveals Why He Wants To Pursue a Degree

In recent years, World No. 1 Novak Djokovic has certainly set the bar in the men’s game. With time, the Serbian machine has perfected all aspects of his game. Today, he is the proud winner of 18 Grand Slam titles and is certain to raise that number.

Recently, Novak Djokovic made an interesting revelation and spoke of his desire to pursue a university degree. He mentioned that it is one of the things he intends to do in the near future.

As he had to make a career in tennis, he had to make sacrifices in order to be in the position he is in today. The 34-year-old player stated;

“But I still want to go to university. I don’t know if next year, or in five years, but I certainly want to get at least a degree. Not being able to do it as a young man saddens me. Although of course, I’m very grateful for everything I’ve had. After all, the University is not made only for children, you can attend it even at 40. It’s the house of knowledge, and I’m a very curious type.”

The 2016 French Open champion added, “The topic that involves me most is that of health, a very broad field. But I also like studying ancient civilizations and archaeology. In this period I’m really trying to understand what can interest me the most. Today, then, you can do a lot online, which is perhaps the best method for me, both as a tennis player and as a dad.”

At the moment, like the other players, Novak Djokovic is focused on the second Grand Slam of the season, the Roland Garros. Although Rafael Nadal is tipped to lift the title, the Serbian ace has beaten Rafa on their many clay court meetings.
