Two-time champion Andy Murray filled hope in British fans after he cruised to two victories at Wimbledon Championships 2021. However, the 22-year-old Denis Shapovalov brought his and all the UK’s hope to an end in the third round. Andy lost 6-4, 6-2, 6-2, registering his worst result at the All England Club.

Unquestionably, the young Canadian played the match of his life against his childhood idol. Yet, a tired Andy let Denis dominate and control the entire match without asking any hard questions. It has now left the Scot in a dilemma.

Before the tournament began, the tennis world had many doubts over the three-time Grand Slam champion’s campaign. He answered them loudly with his wins over Nikoloz Basilashvili and Oscar Otte. Even so, Murray wanted more and is now left disappointed with his performance.

Andy Murray questions his purpose after Wimbledon loss
Inarguably, there were numerous moments throughout his Wimbledon campaign where fans witnessed the old Murray again. Also, his fighting spirit filled many with ever-lasting inspiration.

However, nothing of that sort found the surface during his match against Shapovalov, apart from a half comeback in the first set. Undoubtedly, the 34-year-old had invested his all to do well in this tournament, from rehabbing to training for more than three months. Yet, it was far from what he expected.
