Ja’Marr Chase Wants to Buy a Porsche
The Cincinnati Bengals selected Ja’Marr Chase with the fifth overall choice in the 2021 NFL Draft. He agreed to a four-year, $30.8 million contract with a $19.8 million signing bonus. The then-22-year-old wide receiver detailed how he made and spent his first million dollars in an interview.
“So, the first thing I bought was my mom’s car. That was about $65k, got her a Mazi.” He didn’t mention the model, though, but he revealed that it was his dad’s idea because her Audi was no longer in good condition: “The Audi was real bad, the air stopped working in it so she’s not about to try to ride around in no hot car, so gotta get her a car ASAP.”
He could have repaired her previous car, but who doesn’t want a brand-new Maserati? He went on to say that the car is “midnight black with red interior Mazi.” It’s really good, and it arrived already filled, so I didn’t have to pay anything more. That she was shedding happy tears was encouraging. It started me bawling.”
Of course, he got himself some lovely stuff as well, like as jewelry, clothes, tattoos, and paying for the rookie dinner after all the games. He also gave $15k to each of his siblings and sisters so they could spend and save. He also paid off his family’s house, around $100,000, to ensure that his mother owns the property.
With all the money spent to make sure his family is doing well, he also needed “something to ride around good in.” So, he splashed on his “dream car,” a Rolls-Royce Wraith, for which he paid around $300k. It comes with orange interior seats and fur carpet. He added: “I’ve been wanting that car my whole life, honestly. It was either a Wraith or a Ghost, so I went with the Wraith.”
He’s already thinking about his next vehicle, stating, “Next I want to get a Porsche,” something sporty and quick. He revealed that his dream automobile is a brand-new Bentley for $5 million, but he will not be able to afford it.
And with the remainder of his first million, he chose to preserve it and ensure that he had enough money set aside for his family and friends. Which, for a 23-year-old with a large income, is a lot of money.
