Naomi Osaka Surpasses Serena Williams……Again!!

Tennis superstars Naomi Osaka and Serena Williams are the flag bearers of the beautiful sport. The popularity of these two supreme athletes exceeds all levels. Off the tennis courts, they are two of the highest-paid athletes, exceeding all sports.

Recently, it was revealed that Naomi Osaka has overtaken Serena Williams as the highest-paid female athlete yet again. The Japanese star pocketed $60 million between May 2020 and May 2021. On the other hand, the American ace took home $41.5 million.

In recent times, Naomi has signed some mammoth deals with leading companies. She is the face of luxury brand Louis Vuitton followed by Levi’s, leading watchmaker Tag Heuer, Nissan, Nike, and Mastercard to name a few. She has made the most progress in recent times, winning four Grand Slam titles to date.

Reflecting on Osaka’s season so far, she won the Australian Open this year. During the event, she beat Serena Williams in the semifinal. After that, she had a dip in form, dealing with mental health issues.

She withdrew herself before the second-round match at the French Open as her decision to avoid attending post-match press conferences had not gone down well. Following that, she skipped the Wimbledon Championships and failed to impress in Tokyo Olympics.

Coming on to Williams, she lost in the semifinal in Melbourne. After that, she took a break and came back for the clay season. At the French Open, she lost in the fourth round, which was a disappointment according to her standards.
