Patrick Mahomes Reveals Intense Bye Week Plans

Patrick Mahomes delivered an outstanding performance against the Cincinnati Bengals to take the Kansas City Chiefs to the Super Bowl on Sunday, and he has received much praise for his efforts. The one blemish on his near-perfect AFC Championship Game performance was an unintentional fumble on a botched throw.

Though the blunder had no bearing on the game’s outcome, Chiefs supporters held their collective breath as the play occurred in real time, fearing that it would have given Cincinnati an advantage. It was Mahomes’ first postseason fumble in his career.

Mahomes addressed the unforced blunder after the Chiefs’ victory, emphasizing that Kansas City’s stout defense saved the day. “It was wide open (and) I was going to throw it to Marquez (Valdes- Scantling),” Mahomes explained. “They blitzed and so he was going to be wide open and (the ball) just slipped right out of my hand”.

“Obviously I tried to pick it up and I wasn’t able to do that. Luckily it didn’t cost us the game because it was a big moment in the game, our defense stepped up and got some stops for us there at the end”.

While Chiefs supporters will give Mahomes the benefit of the doubt on almost any mistake he makes, but tiny blunders like the one that occurred on Sunday might derail Kansas City’s hopes of capturing another Lombardi Trophy against the Philadelphia Eagles.
