Patrick Mahomes had just about 10 minutes left to get back in the game from a 21-13 deficit. And that is when the two sides locked horns by scoring one after another until the Chiefs emerged victorious in the end with a phenomenal connection between Mahomes and Kelce.

Mahomes completed 10 throws out of 13 covering 197 yards with three touchdowns in the final few minutes of the game. The Chiefs in the end pulled off a 34-28 overtime win against the Chargers. However, that impressive bit of performance made Mahomes a part of the NFL history.

According to ESPN Stats and Info, created Mahomes history and became the fourth quarterback in the history of the NFL to throw three game-tying touchdown passes late in the fourth quarter of the game and in the overtime. The other three quarterbacks being Baker Mayfield against the Bengals in 2020, Dak Prescott against the Eagles in 2018, and Bruce Gradkowski against the Steelers in 2009.

During those concluding minutes of the game, Mahomes’ first touchdown pass went to Tyreek Hill, that leveled up the game. Following which the Chargers scored another touchdown in reply to it. The exchange between the two sides continued for a while until the two sides rejected to back off and reached the overtime.

It was during that overtime that the Chiefs quarterback connected with tight end Travis Kelce for a 34-yard touchdown pass to kiss the glorifying victory. Mahomes throughout the game passed for his season-best 410 yards.

The Thursday night win against the Chargers led Mahomes to an impressive 12-0 winning streak on road against his divisional rivals. Although that is not the longest streak to hold in the NFL, but he has certainly tied up with the former NFL star Peyton Manning for the second spot.
