Patrick Mahomes’ Dad Explains Reason For Cigar Celebration

Patrick Mahomes Sr. has spoken up about a viral scene in which he lit a cigar after the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship Game. During an interview, Patrick Mahomes’ father stated he was “mad and furious”.

This is obviously resulted from Bengals players referring to Arrowhead Stadium as “Burrowhead” and Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval joked that Joe Burrow “take a paternity test to prove whether or not he’s” Mahomes’ real dad.

“I wanted to get the last laugh, so I told Patrick and a couple of our friends that I was going to bring a cigar to Kansas City,” Mahomes Sr. explained. “And when they won, I told Patrick I was going to light it right up, and smoke it”.

The video of Mahomes Sr. smoking his winning cigar was appropriately labelled at “Burrowhead” stadium. He urged his superstar son to participate, but he also knew better. “That’s just not him,” Mahomes Sr. said. “I had my friends do the same thing, too, it just wasn’t recorded and shown all over TV”.

Mahomes Sr. plans to attend this Sunday’s Super Bowl LVII matchup between his son’s Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, and Mahomes Sr. will bring something extra with him just in case.

“I’ve got a guy who’s going to make boxes of cigars for me to bring to all of the Chiefs,” he continued. “So, I’ll be sure to have mine. Believe me, I’ll be ready to light it up”.
