RACE TO 21!: Who Will Get There First With One Grand Slam to go

Published

on

As we come towards the final Grand Slam event of the season, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer are expected to give it their best shot at the last opportunity of this year. However, none of these three athletes are competing in either of the ATP Masters 1000 events towards the build-up to the US Open.

Roger Federer has been out of action since his exit at the Wimbledon Championships. On the other hand, Novak Djokovic has exhausted himself with the number of events he has competed in lately. At last, Rafael Nadal has been suffering from a foot injury which had kept him out of action since the French Open exit.

One cannot rule out the Swiss maestro. The experience under his belt at times is enough to get the better of opponents. He is a tactical genius when it comes to executing a game plan against the top guys on Tour. Although he has not won on US soil for a while, he still is a five-time champion at Flushing Meadows.

Since it’s come down to one final shot at Grand Slam glory this season, we take a closer look as to which players will have a better opportunity to outdo each other. However, with the way things have gone about this season, one cannot find another candidate to choose from besides the Serbian machine, who has won all three Grand Slam events this season.

In case there are any obstacles in the Serb’s way, the second favorite would be Rafa. In recent years, he has registered successful performances on the US hardcourts and if he can recover in time from his injury, he will have a good shot.

Nonetheless, it will be a treat for the fans to watch all the top three big names of the sport compete it out for their 21st Grand Slam titles.
