Roger Federer Shades His Wife, Mirka in A Popular Challenge

Roger Federer has captured the attention of millions around the world with another brilliant Twitter challenge.

The tennis superstar asked his legion of social media followers a simple question: which retired tennis greats would they like to see return to the game?

After his extremely successful viral challenge just over a week ago in which he asked fans to share videos of themselves hitting a tennis ball against a wall, the Fed was clearly in the mood for more engagement.

The responses came in thick and fast, with the 38-year-old’s passionate fans throwing out all sorts of suggestions that mostly drew strong approval from Federer.

However one suggestion fell extremely flat, and tennis fans were taking note.

A Twitter user responded to Federer’s question by posting an image of the Swiss maestro and his wife Mirka playing a doubles match together in the early days of their relationship.

“I vote for this, Roger,” Twitter user ‘weaknd’ wrote.

Mirka was herself once a tennis professional and met Roger at the 2000 Summer Olympics when both were representing Switzerland.

She sadly had to retire from her professional career in 2002 due to a persistent foot injury.

Unfortunately for Mirka, it didn’t seem like Roger was super excited about seeing her return to the court, as he gave a truly unconvincing and “skeptical” response to the suggestion.
