Eric Bieniemy Reveals Big Admission About Leaving Chiefs
Eric Bieniemy left his post as Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator this summer to take a similar position with the Washington Commanders, which was rather shocking. A recent remark he made may provide insight into his thoughts.
Bieniemy said he had a “whole new outlook” as a result of his relocation to Washington, and confessed that his job with Kansas City provided some comfort – perhaps too much so.
“When you’ve been in a place for 10 years, you have a tendency to take certain things for granted,” Bieniemy said, via John Keim of ESPN. “This has helped me to go back and dot all the I’s and cross all the T’s.”
Bieniemy will eventually have greater offensive authority in Washington than he had in Kansas City. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid had a major say in that side of the ball, but Bieniemy is totally in command of the Commanders.
Bieniemy had it good in Kansas City, where he was expected to be a Super Bowl contender with a spectacular attack every year. This transfer will undoubtedly provide him with a greater task, but it says a lot that his former teammates expect him to succeed.
