Former Packers WR Predicts Catastrophic Start For Aaron Rodgers

Greg Jennings, a former Green Bay Packers wide receiver, has occasionally enraged supporters with his provocative statements about the organization. After leaving Green Bay in free agency to play for the Minnesota Vikings, Jennings made headlines with statements he made criticizing Rodgers’ leadership and the squad in general.

However, in recent years, Jennings has attempted to mend the rifts he has created with his supporters. When he was inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame in September 2022, most of his “wounds” had healed. While Jennings’ status among Packers supporters has improved, he may now have a whole new set of detractors.

Recent comments he made about the start of the New York Jets’ 2023 season had many fans upset. The Jets face a challenging schedule in 2023, with the first six games being a challenge. The first third of their season is as follows:

Week One- against. Buffalo Bills
Week Two- against Dallas Cowboys
Week Three- against. New England Patriots
Week Four- against. Kansas City Chiefs
Week Five- against the Denver Broncos
Week Six- vs. the Philadelphia Eagles

In Week Seven, New York will have a bye week. On “The Carton Show” on Friday, Jennings projected that Rodgers and the Jets will go into their bye week 1-5.

While it may appear like Jennings is only stirring the fire, it is crucial to remember that he correctly predicted the Vikings will dethrone the Packers in the NFC North in August of 2022. While Jennings may appear to be taking jabs at times, he is only calling it like he sees it.

He envisions a club that went 7-10 in 2022 (and lost six games in a row to conclude the year) opening the 2023 season against four 2022 NFL Playoff teams. The only two teams that did not make it were the Patriots (8-9) and the Broncos (4-13).

He also sees a club that hired a quarterback who will age 40 in December and had a bad year in 2022. While most people expect Rodgers to return in 2023, there are no promises.

The Jets also recruited a number of older free agents (like as Randall Cobb) while doing little to enhance their wide receiving room (Packers fans will recall how the passing game looked with Cobb and Allen Lazard on the club last year).

Perhaps most crucially, Jennings sees a squad with one of the NFL’s weakest offensive lines. The Jets will suffer if Rodgers cannot be held upright or is forced to be a mobile quarterback.
