Green Bay Packers’ Trade Deadline Target Revealed

The Green Bay Packers are hoping for a stride forward in their interior defensive line this season after Jarran Reed and Dean Lowry left in free agency. Devonte Wyatt, the Packers’ 2022 first-round selection, must improve in his second season with the organization.

However, the Packers may be able to acquire one of the league’s finest defensive lineman, Aaron Donald, before the trade deadline. If the Packers’ transition year with QB Jordan Love goes well, they might be in the market for Donald. ESPN’s Dan Graziano speculated that the Los Angeles Rams may trade Donald this season:

“But what if the Rams have another lousy season and decide the best bet is to trade away more veterans and rebuild? This is certainly not out of the realm of possibility. There are a lot of questions about the Rams after they followed their Super Bowl title season up with a 5-12 campaign.

If they are bad again and decide to sell at the trade deadline, could Donald go somewhere and be the missing piece to a contender’s Super Bowl run, the way Von Miller was for the Rams two years ago? If healthy, Donald could be the biggest trade deadline pickup in league history”.

“If the Rams decide to see what they can get for him and if he’s willing to leave. Yes, a lot of ifs on this one, but keep an eye on it.” Donald would be a welcome addition to the Packers’ interior defensive line. In nine NFL seasons, the three-time Defensive Player of the Year has 103 sacks. Donald would also provide championship experience to a young Packers club.

The Packers are unlikely to make a deal for Donald this season. However, if the Packers start the season well, as some observers predict, Donald might be acquired in a trade. He’d be the ideal option for the pass rush that defensive coordinator Joe Barry is looking for this season.
