Packers rookie QB Receives Special Gift From Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers is a New York Jet, yet he has links to the Green Bay Packers. The four-time MVP surprised one of his new replacements with a really nice housewarming gift. Sean Clifford of Penn State was taken by the Packers in the fifth round of this year’s NFL Draft.

Clifford is anticipated to be a backup to Jordan Love, the former first-round choice who has been groomed to be Rodgers’ heir apparent, but he remains a part of the Packer quarterback fraternity. Rodgers sent Clifford a framed, signed jersey to welcome him to Green Bay.

Rodgers even wrote a heartfelt message that reads, “Sean – Welcome to Green Bay! Enjoy that great city & my locker!” Clifford’s relationship to Rodgers isn’t limited to the jersey. He’ll be inheriting Rodgers’ old locker in Green Bay, which hasn’t gone unnoticed by the rookie QB.

“It’s cool. That’s what it is,” Clifford said when he was asked about what it meant to take over at Rodgers’ locker. “I understand who was in here before, and I respect everything about that, but at the same time, I came in, I found my name on the plate, and I sat down,” he said.

“I’m doing whatever it takes to win games here. I’m very appreciative of the opportunity.”
