Mason Crosby Sparks Packers Return in Recent Interview

Mason Crosby recently stated that a return to the Green Bay Packers this season is not out of the question. A new update in the kicker free agency market on Thursday may have made his return more likely at this stage in July.

“Weird stuff happens every year, and you never know. You never know what’s going to happen,” Crosby said of his prospects of returning to the Packers in an interview with ESPN Wisconsin this week.

The Dallas Cowboys, who had been widely connected to acquiring Crosby, acquired kicker Brandon Aubrey. The Cowboys have decided to bring in Aubrey, a kicker who excelled in the USFL, to compete in their kicking competition this autumn.

Crosby appears to have crossed the Cowboys off his list. Crosby has been mentioned as a prospective kicker for the Denver Broncos. There’s a chance the 38-year-old will join many former Green Bay Packers colleagues with the New York Jets.

The latest Cowboys news Thursday’s effort is encouraging for Packers supporters hoping to see Crosby return this season. The Packers enter training camp with only one kicker on the roster, rookie Anders Carlson. Crosby may be brought in to compete with Carlson for the kicking position this season at the proper price.
