Offensive Tackle Receiving Plenty Of Interest On Free Agent Market
Former Cincinnati Bengals right tackle La’el Collins is a free agent, but he could have a new home in the near future.
Cincinnati released the 30-year-old on Tuesday. Collins has received interest from “nearly a dozen teams” according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
The veteran is still recovering from a torn ACL, but is expected to be fully healthy within the next 4-6 weeks, league sources tell All Bengals.
Collins started 15 games for Cincinnati last season before injuring his knee in a Christmas Eve win over the Patriots. He underwent knee reconstruction surgery in January and spent the entire offseason on the Bengals’ roster.
By releasing him, Cincinnati cleared up to $7.4 million in cap space this season and $7 million next season.
Keep an eye on the Patriots. New England was interested in Collins before he signed with the Bengals prior to the 2022 campaign.
Sources: Free agent OT La’el Collins has received interest from nearly a dozen teams. Collins, who tore his ACL in December, is scheduled to meet on Monday with Dr. Eldridge of UCLA.
