Jordan Love Addresses Emotional Backup Role to Aaron Rodgers

When the Green Bay Packers selected Jordan Love, many were confused as to why the decision was made and what it represented for Aaron Rodgers’ future. After Aaron Rodgers won consecutive MVP awards, it raised even more questions in the minds of fans, as well as Jordan Love.

Rodgers signed a new contract but was moved this offseason to the New York Jets. Jordan Love is now the starting quarterback, and he gave his thoughts on what that entails.

Jordan Love understood he wouldn’t be playing straight away when he was chosen. He understood he’d be sitting behind Aaron Rodgers for at least a season, but Jordan Love was not sure if he would ever call Green Bay his home. when Rodgers signed his deal.

“Aaron wins back to back MVPs. They re-sign him. Things happen where I did have my doubts if this would be the place I would be able to call home and become the starter here. I just trsuted the process, kept my head down, kept grinding and I said, ‘What will happen will happen and I can’t force anything.’ I can control what I can control and obviously I am given the opportunity.”

Jordan Love plainly doubted his chances of being the franchise quarterback. However, now that he is, he realizes how unique the chance is. He is being given the opportunity to lead the NFL’s most renowned organization.

“It’s a special place. Just being here for the past three years you can see that. The fans love it. You see at training camp they’re stoked to be out here, riding the bikes. It’s defenintly a special place and obviously running out that tunnel on game day you just get to be in Lambeau, see the fans and the excitement that’s around this team. It’s defenintly a special place.”

Green Bay’s expertise is not lost on the Green Bay Packers’ new quarterback. Green Bay is the United States’ smallest professional sports city, and the club is owned by its supporters. Being a quarterback for the Green Bay Packers is not like being a quarterback for any other NFL team. The Packers are the only team in town, unlike in other places. Jordan Love is not going to waste his chance.
