Serena Williams and Coach Patrick Mouratoglou Watch Coco Gauff Practice at Italian Open 2021

Rising star Coco Gauff too enjoyed a superb start as she defeated Yulia Putintseva in the first round of the Italian Open 2021.

She didn’t face much difficulty and beat down her opponent in straight sets. The final scoreline of the match was 7-5, 4-6, 6-4.

The 17-year-old will now face Maria Sakkari in the second round of the tournament. Interestingly, her idol Serena Williams watched her practice on clay right before her next match.

Serena reached Rome, Italy today with her coach Patrick Mouratoglou. The Frenchman is also the coach of Coco Gauff and World No.5 Stefanos Tsitsipas and was thus keeping an eye on Gauff’s practice sessions.

“And here we are. We are in Rome” tweeted Mouratoglou after reaching Italy.

In the video, one can see Serena watching Gauff’s match. She looks quite relaxed and confident ahead of her clash at the Rome Masters 2021 tomorrow.
