Tee Higgins Explains limited His participation in Team Reps

The Cincinnati Bengals exercised in the rain on Monday afternoon, and the club dodged a scare with wide receiver Tee Higgins and safety Nick Scott right before the session ended. Scott collided with Higgins and knocked him to the ground as he leaped into the air to receive the pass.

Higgins said after practice that he “awkwardly” landed down on his leg, but it was “nothing major.” Higgins was able to jog away but did not return to practice following the crash. He was quickly attended to by a member of the Bengals’ medical team, but he was not taken off the practice field.

Higgins believes that practicing is essential as he prepares for a crucial season. He is consistent in his approach, which demonstrates his professionalism. Higgins’ approach shifted slightly after quarterback Joe Burrow sustained a calf issue on the second day of training camp.

Higgins did not take part in the team portion of practice the next day. He also did not participate in the 11-on-11 drills against the Green Bay Packers last week. When asked what has kept him from participating in some team reps, Higgins gave some insight into his recent selections.

“Just precaution… just out there talking to coach Troy (Walters) going back and forth with him being able to take some team reps off and do individual but actually getting back in there doing everything with the guys feels good,” Higgins said on Monday.
