Bengals Have ‘Mini-Scuffle’ On First Day Of Training Camp

On the opening day of training camp, the Cincinnati Bengals wasted little time getting serious. A brief brawl broke out around an hour into the first session after training camp commenced on Wednesday. Orlando Brown Jr., according to The Athletic’s Paul Dehner Jr., was smack in the center of the “mini-scuffle” that was swiftly handled.

On the next play, Joe Burrow struck Tee Higgins for a touchdown against Nick Scott in the defensive secondary. We’ll see if anything else comes of this throughout the day and into the next week, but Bengals players and coaches weren’t exaggerating when they talked about the expected intensity in camp this year as they try to return to the playoffs.

Fans reacted to the spat on social media.

“Right after the Bengals signed Orlando Brown, I asked him who the toughest Bengal that he had to block was during his time with the Chiefs … He said it was Trey Hendrickson,” reported Mohammad Ahmad. “Looks like they haven’t forgotten about their last four meetings from Brown’s time in KC.”

“Two competitors that probably had a flashback to previous battles, I Love It!” another replied. “Ain’t gonna do nothing but make them better. Iron Sharpens Iron.”
