Cowboys' Demarcus Lawrence Shares Bold Take on Eagles

Due to the struggles of the New York Giants and Washington Commanders over the last decade or so, the Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles matchup has been the premier rivalry in the NFC East division, and Demarcus Lawrence stated that there is not a large gap between the Cowboys and Eagles going into the 2023 NFL season.

Following the Eagles’ ascension to NFC championship status, many consider them the favorites to repeat as division victors before attempting another Super Bowl run.

Demarcus Lawrence, a three-time Pro Bowler for the Dallas Cowboys, believes the NFC East is far from settled.

“I don’t feel like it’s a huge gap at all,” Lawrence recently told The Associated Press’ Rob Maadi on the AP Pro Football Podcast when asked about the differences between his Cowboys and the Eagles.

“I feel like it comes down to certain details,” Lawrence continued. “Not just the scheme, but also your locker room. I feel like through this time right now when we headed to training camp that we made those adjustments, we learned those different things that we need to learn about our teammates so we can fully function the way we should out there on the field.”

The Cowboys haven’t played in an NFL title game since defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XXX in January 1996. OddsChecker had the Eagles as +330 betting favorites to repeat as NFC champions as of early Thursday afternoon. The Cowboys were third on the list, after the 49ers (+425) at +650.
